“ Literally the best dinner Ive ever had. Lived in Truckee for years and have always wanted to go here, finally went for Valentines Day and had an amazing experience. Every bite was perfectly balanced and service was so friendly and not pretentious. Expensive but SO worth it! Seriously better than any Michelin star restaurant Ive been to. ”
“ Prix Fixe Menu Review Hands down the favorite dish of the night were the Nantucket Bay Scallops. Everything on the plate worked together. It was fantastic. Many times you go through a meal with multiple courses and you have one or two that just fall short. The winter 2025 Prix Fixe did not have a miss for us. Each plate was delicious and well prepared. Zero negative comments for this meal. The service was excellent and everyone was friendly. It kept the atmosphere from being too stuffy, but still felt very professional. ”
“ We came for our engagement celebration, and we absolutely loved the experience. It was my fiancees first time trying fine cuisine and she was overall impressed. We got the four course tasting menu with the wine pairing, and I thought it was reasonable for the price. My fiancee is vegetarian, so we couldnt try the 10course meal hut we wouldve loved to. I would certainly recommend getting the wine pairing if you go here it really elevates every dish to the next level. We had a small complaint with the red wine selection with the steakonigiri pairing, so the server graciously let us try the Chianti which was much better. I would highly recommend this restaurant for anyone who wants a fine dining experience in the Tahoe area. Ive eaten at Michelin star restaurants and I think this easily measures up to a 1 star Michelin dining experience. ”
“ This is my favorite restaurant in California. Ive had there tasting menus twice, and each time it was a new, miraculous experience. Their food is exquisite, the service is nice, and the ambiance is as expected. Its a hidden gem in truckee and if you have the time and money Id highly recommend it. It is worth the price, without a doubt. I had a pine ice dish about 2 years ago as one of the dessert courses and it was like eating the best blue bird powder day ever, with a hint of cozy cabin glow. ”
“ Woooowwwww! So glad we went here. We were hesitant at the outset when we tried to sit outside given the limited options and prices. However once we got going we were glad we decided to stay. The chefs tasting menu was truly special and something akin to a Michelin quality restaurant wed have in the City. Cant describe how delicious each dish was because it would take forever but Im glad we memorialized each one with a quick photo to relive the special moments. Favorites were the walk in the woods, Rossini, black truffle pasta, and the olive oil ice cream. The wine flight was also superb. The service was also top notch, Jared and his team went out of their way to make the night special. Even at the end of the night he made recommendations of other Truckee spots, none failed us. Overall a very memorable dining experience which we would happily repeat. Well be back soon. ”

The food quality was spectacular, the service is excellent, great wine list and a comfortable setting. Every single course was imaginative, delicious and wonderfully presented. The chefs are truly gifted and deserve your support. We cant say enough positive things about Trokay, and cant wait to come back. ”
“ Exceptional! We made reservations for my boyfriends birthday. We got the price fixe menu and the wine pairings. Every single dish was fantastic and we learned a ton about the wine we were tasting. Wine pairing 2.53 glasses of wine matched with the courses you choose. I wish there would have been more California wines on the menu Im biased! but the wine did not disappoint. Price fixe menu four choices with two special treats from the chef. Exceptional flavors and presentation. There were at least five different wait staff we interacted with, and the host, all lovely and helpful. Total cost of the meal including tip and tax came to 635.00 for the two of us. We spent about 2.5 hours dining at Trokay and most of the next day talking about it. Highly recommend for a special occasion. ”
